Coffee versus Tea

If you haven't already noticed, I love my cup of Joe. I have encountered various well meaning people who have attempted to make my a tea lover. Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate an occasional cup of chai tea. But my true love is, and will always be, a nice cup of coffee in the nearest small town cafe. Coffee forever!

After a few sorry attempts at writing an especially profound thought, I have come up short.
So, I have decided to show you a video I created about a year ago.
I hope you are impacted by it.

The pictures where taken by me, acquaintances, and friends.  They are depicting people from Costa Rica, Honduras, Colombia, Peru, Panama, and Brazil.

Oh how I love coffee! (cold, hot, milky, strong, ex.)

I am started to come to the conclusion that every blog I write will begin with a random phrase. I can't help it! My randomness is essential in the preparation of beginning a profound thought.

This week has been full of new knowledge. Or should I say, old knowledge revisited. I have a bad habit of gaining wisdom only to drop it a mile down the road. If we made it a point to retain even a small percentage of the wisdom we acquire, imagine who we could be. If we didn't have to relearn every lesson life presents us time and time again...Who could we become?

Can humanity rise above its own immaturity?  Is it possible for us to end our childish tantrums and become adults? As I look around I can not help but come to a pessimistic realization. Even our government full of supposedly mature adults have had  their own tantrums. The reality is, we live in a world of selfish people.
And I am the worst...

Oh how easy it is to point fingers. We blame our government, yet we don't even vote. We blame our entertainment, yet we bankroll their corruption every time we turn the television on. We blame our bosses, yet we do nothing to encourage change.Complainers (haters) are useless and the world would and will go on without their so-called valuable input.

"Being wise isn't promoting everything wrong with the world, it is facilitating the change necessary to bring about positive change."

The wisest people in history were only written into history because they did somthing with the wisdom they had recieved. Instead of dropping it by the wayside they carried it like a banner and ran to the masses. Being an adult is moving beyond our personal comfort and realizing the great need America has for grownups. If we looked outside our windows we would realize the wisdom we take for granted is hidden from a generation that truly needs it. Where are the fathers, where are the mothers to teach the children of this era?
They are too busy being children.

To any father or mother reading this, please don't reject the lessons life presents you. Teach them to your children.Maybe my generation wouldn't have to learn wisdom from terrible experiences.

More Stuff...

Currently I am sipping a nice lukewarm cup of espresso. ( I drink way to slow) In a few moments it will probably more closely resemble a iced coffee. Moving on from that thought...
Lately, I have been getting deeply frustrated waiting on God. Sometimes I would like to give God an energy drink and get it over with. As you can see, patience isn't necessarily my strongest attribute.Being born into the instant gratification generation doesn't help the situation either. We have fast food, fast prescriptions, instant taxes, and instant (fill in the blank). DOES THE MADNESS END!!! Truth is, all of us could use a little more educating in the art of waiting. Some really, smart person once said, "patience is a virtue". One thing I don't get is how every time we pray for patience, the next day, we encounter an abundance of idiots.
Idiots on the road, idiots at our work places, idiots living next door... WHY GOD WHY?
Just yesterday I experienced this rather enjoyable occurrence.  What I have learned is that, sometimes the best response to our aggravation is silence. Most of the time I cool down and a few days later I wonder why I got so frustrated. My impatience with people has caused me to say a lot of stupid things that I later regret. The truth is, along with patience we (I) need to learn how to have grace with people. Maybe we all should spend some time looking at ourselves. After just moments of self analyzing we would realize that I would annoy myself. We gets so annoyed with other people that we never begin to think how much we must annoy others. God has alot to teach me. My parents have told me on a number of occasion that I will probably be learning patience till I kick-the-bucket. That feels really encouraging. (smiley face) But really, would you rather have everyone remember you as the impatience jerk. With alot of persistence and a little frustration maybe we can leave this world helping others become a more patient people.

Provide the patience you wish everyone provided you!

What's up with this thing call Life?

Before massive confusion let me verify what "life" actually means. Don't worry, I will not be entering into a huge ten page dissertation on the meaning of life. So everyone can take their quivering hand and wipe the sweat off your forehead. Last month my sister introduced me to this new organization called Life. After a few confusing conversations and cups of coffee I came to a  general idea of what Life was all about. It pretty much revolves around the pursuit of community and leadership building. All I have to say is, "finally someone has a practical solution for all the woes in this world."

Before I became involved with Life I was definitely a nay-say-er. She would bring these strangely happy people into our/MY apartment (disrupting my laziness) and talk non-stop about community and leadership mumbo-jumbo. Grrrrrr... Boy didn't I sound like an idiot :( After regaining some form of intelligence I realized that this thing might actually be pretty awesome. Well, a few Cd's and books later I was hooked.

I know what everybody is saying (or thinking). "How much does this thing cost?" How much does the coffee in your cup cost? I know that I can easily rack up fifty to one hundred dollars a month on coffee and little snacks. At this moment I am drinking a nice machiatto in Barnes and Nobles. So five times ten would be fifty dollars. "Guess what" Fifty dollars a month is all that a one month Life subscription would cost you. YAY and the villagers rejoice. I know who will also be rejoicing. Your coworkers, your manager, and your church group will all be dancing around the maypole. It is a wonder what all the possitive information can do for you and the people around you. What do you have to lose? My plan whould be for you to click on the link right know.

Life has been enriching my life with wisdom that used to be common but sadly isn't anymore. Sooo get some common sense and click the link!  www.the-life-business.com
